Radio Equipment Company was founded in 1932
at Kansas City, Missouri, by Everett L.
Dillard.. Along with providing precision
frequency measuring services, CREC
manufactured quartz radio crystals, provided
Allocational Engineering, transmitting
equipment and services to radio and TV
stations. A former
station owner (WLBF in Kansas City), Mr
Dillard was an accomplished experimenter,
having put short-wave station 9XA on the air
in late 1938.
